EEAC's 2012 Annual Membership Meeting

We are pleased to announce the preliminary agenda for EEAC’s 2012 Annual Membership Meeting, to be held February 29 – March 2, 2012, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC.  Meeting sessions will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29, and the meeting will adjourn at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2.  We encourage you to register now for what promises to be one of the most compelling employment conferences of 2012.

The room block being held by the hotel for EEAC members expires on February 7, so early registration is encouraged.

The new three-day meeting format is designed to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest legal and regulatory developments affecting human resources compliance practitioners and in-house employment counsel.  Confirmed sessions already include:
  • Keynote presentations by OFCCP Director Pat Shiu and EEOC Chair Jackie Berrien;
  • An EEAC member company panel on what companies are doing now to maximize their recruitment efforts for veterans and individuals with disabilities;
  • A luncheon presentation by Mara Liasson, National Political Correspondent, National Public Radio;
  • A series of fast-paced, concurrent one-hour Learning Track sessions aimed respectively at compliance professionals, in-house employment counsel, and recruiters; and
  • A three-hour Legal Forum featuring updates on current EEO-related legal developments and presentations by P. David Lopez, General Counsel of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Ronald Meisburg, Partner in the Labor & Employment Department and co-head of the Labor-Management Relations and Strategic Corporate Planning Groups at Proskauer, and former General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

The Learning Track sessions will cover topics such as preparing for compliance under the OFCCP’s proposed vets and disabilities rules; OFCCP audit readiness; testing and test validity; OFCCP compliance in atypical job searches; whistleblower protections and retaliation law; the upcoming Special EEO File; the use of race and gender information in employment selection decisions; current rules and emerging trends on the use of criminal records and background checks; and ways in which federal and state EEO laws sometimes diverge.

The Annual Meeting will also include a current issue update from EEAC staff and multiple opportunities for valuable peer-to-peer benchmarking and networking, including our Thursday luncheon, evening receptions, and a Friday morning networking breakfast.  Conference sponsors include EEAC members Honeywell, McKesson, Nestlé, Prudential Financial, and Walgreen Co.

Both HRCI recertification credit and CLE credit for most jurisdictions will be available.
