North Carolina Repeals Controversial “Bathroom Law”

The North Carolina legislature has passed, and the governor has signed, a bill to repeal HB 2, the controversial law enacted last year that prohibited transgender persons from using public bathrooms that were not associated with their biological sex. A major factor behind the repeal was economic pressure exerted on the state by businesses that strongly opposed the law.
