Favorable Ruling by Fifth Circuit in Bridges v. Empire Scaffold Sheds Light on Compensable Time Under the FLSA

The Fair Labor Standards Act requires employers to pay employees for hours worked. The question in this case was whether time spent by workers traveling from a designated parking lot to their worksite and waiting time spent there before their shift started was compensable. The court here said no, and offered a cogent explanation as to why.
